I need to know how to backup my internet explorer favorites so that I can transfer them over to a new computer. I have soooo many great sites, that I would really hate to lose them. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

The favorites are stored in C:Documents and Settings then Your username, then Favorites. You can right click on the folder and zip them up to save on a usb flash drive or send to yourself in email. On the new computer just unzip the file and copy them into your Favorites folder.

Open up IE8 and go to the “Import and Export” command in the File menu of Internet Explorer on your old computer. Select “Export Favorites,” and then follow the prompts that’ll let you save your Favorites as a file. You can call the file anything you want (Old Computer Favorites, might be a good idea). Save it some other place where you can easily find it!

Now somehow transfer this file to your new computer (either with a USB like the other answerer said, or even by putting it on a burned CD). Now open up Internet Explorer on the new computer, click on “Import and Export” again, and this time, select “Import Favorites.” Just click on that Old Computer Favorites file, and you should be set!
    I hope this was helpful!

    Thanks,
