network connection geting reset between novell3.12 and windows xp pro?

i am using novell 3.12 server
and one of my node(amd athlon 2ghs on asus mother board) runs on windows xp pro
my business software is clipper based
but i face a proplem while taking backup on this machine from my server the connection between the two gets reset after 3 minutes or 5 minutes or sometimes even [...]
