When I create a full backup of a machine (Windows machine). Can I restore that backup to a different machine? For an apple computer, is the answer different?

Some software vendors offer full backups (a clone of everything within a windows installation), which is different than just a backup of individual files and folders… which I know can be restored to any machine.

My other question is: Where is user data stored on Windows Server 2003? For instance, if I had 20 users and I wanted to do a backup (not a full backup) of their data. Where would I go to find this data?

When I said “full backup” perhaps I should use a differnent term. Genie software uses the term “Disaster Recovery” backup. If your system where to fail today and be unable to boot into Windows, a Disaster Recovery backup could restore EVERYTHING that was in Windows when you did the backup. In terms of backup lingo, a full backup is one instance of backup on a machine (an incremental backup is more than one backup). I just want to clear any confusion to what I’m talking about.
